Located on the western fringes of North Carolina, Smoky
Mountains constitute parts of the Apalachains, one of the
oldest mountain ranges in the world. The smokies, as it is
commonly termed, gets its unique flavour from the immense
varieties of wild life and foliage. The smoky mountain was
the original home of the Cherokee Indians. It also harbours
one of the earliest Europian settlements and stands witness
to some of the sadest moments of human struggle involving
the Old and the New worlds.
